Clarify your pension insurance account

If you are or have been in the statutory pension insurance, you have a pension insurance account. All the data that is important for your pension is stored here.

The German Pension Insurance stores periods of work, training, health, unemployment and child-raising periods in your personal insurance account. You can view the data stored there at any time.

You can have your insurance history checked at any time. If you are 43 years old, your pension insurance provider will automatically send you an insurance history to check the stored times if your address is up-to-date. You will then receive an insurance history every 6 years.

If the stored data is incomplete or incorrect, you should have your insurance account corrected or supplemented in good time. To do this, you must submit an account clarification request. Only if your insurance account is complete and correct, the amount of your later pension can be calculated correctly and your later pension application processed faster. Your pension insurance provider can then also advise you better on retirement provision.

Timely account clarification is also important because health insurance companies, employment agencies and employers only keep documents for a certain period of time.
