Determination of the route of dangerous goods transport: grant - General decree

In order to ensure maximum safety during the transport of dangerous goods, special regulations apply to the transport of dangerous goods. Dangerous goods are substances and articles which, by their characteristics or condition, constitute a threat to public security and order during their transport and/or may damage the life and health of human beings and nature or important commons.

Certain dangerous goods require a provision of infrastructure in accordance with Paragraph 35 of the Regulation on the national and international transport of dangerous goods by road, railways and inland waters (GGVSEB). These are listed in Appendix 1 to GGVSEB. In principle, the transport of these dangerous goods must be carried out on the federal highways (except for some certain sections).

The route can be determined by a general order of the competent authority. For certain so-called bulk goods, such as petrol, heating oil and household gases, this is regulated accordingly. In this decree you can read on which routes in your region (outside the motorways) certain dangerous goods may be transported without having to submit a separate application before transport.

For other dangerous goods that are not covered by the general order, you must obtain permits for the individual travel regulations within the framework of the dangerous goods regulations. Please refer to the further information in the service "Determination of the route of dangerous goods transports: grant - single travel route determination".
