Food stuff of animal origin: working and processing - Authorisation

Under EU veterinary and food legislation, certain establishments wishing to place food of animal origin on the market require authorisation. In the red meat (e.g. pork or beef) and white meat (poultry meat), these usually include slaughterhouses, cutting plants and processing plants. It is also appropriate to allow certain dairy and fish processing plants and certain producers of egg products.
