Expert training: Registration for the examination of knowledge with the craft trade. Testing Association/Crafts Organisation

One of the tasks of the Chambers of Crafts is to appoint and swear by experts to draw up expert opinions on the goods, services and prices of craftsmen. To this end, the experts must demonstrate particular expertise, independence, objectivity and trustworthiness. The legal basis is the respective expert regulations of the appointing body. In addition, the provisions of Sections 36, 36a of the German Trade Code (GewO) apply.

As part of the application process for the office of a publicly appointed and sworn expert, a personal interview, a visit to a basic and advanced seminar on expert work as well as a separate Examination of the expertise (in most cases by the competent trade association) for which the applicant must register. In the application process, the personal and professional aptitude for the preparation of expert opinions as well as the special expertise in the respective subject area are examined, i.e. significantly above the average expertise and skills.
