However, driving is only permitted until the age of 18 if accompanied by an adult – otherwise there is a risk of revocation of the driving license, a fine and an extension of the probationary period.

Process flow
The application must be submitted in writing by the driving school or personally by the applicant. If suitable, the competent body shall issue the test order to the competent technical inspection body.
The competent authority issues a so-called test certificate for the driving licence, which serves as proof of driving authorisation in Germany up to 3 months after reaching the age of 18. This roadworthiness certificate must be carried on all journeys. The certificate names the persons intended to accompany them, i.e. it is not allowed to travel with any number of different accompanying persons.
What deadlines do I have to pay attention to?
An application is possible at the earliest from 6 months before reaching the minimum age.
What else should I know?
Further information can be obtained from any driving school and any competent authority.
