Which place to enter?

The location is used to determine the responsible office for the selected administrative service. In most cases you can enter your place of residence to find the competent authority. However, there are also cases in which a different location must be specified. Here are some examples:

Birth certificateYou want to get married and need a birth certificate. You live in Hanover, but you were born in Celle. You must therefore state your place of birth, i.e. Celle.

Business registrationYou would like to register a business in Braunschweig. Your place of residence is Hanover. You must therefore state the location of your future business, i.e. Braunschweig.

Apply for a building permitYou would like to build a house in Wunstorf and therefore apply for a building permit. Her place of residence is currently Hanover. You must indicate the place where the house is to be built. In this case it is Wunstorf.

Integration assistance for the mentally ill

The aim of integration assistance is to prevent a threatening mental disability or to eliminate or mitigate the consequences of a disability. Your participation in life in the community is to be maintained or restored after a longer stay in hospital or longer isolation.
You will find support in coping with daily life. This includes in particular

  • housing
  • finances
  • household management
  • the organization of leisure time
  • the promotion of private contacts and hobbies
  • visits to public offices (preparation and support), if not the task of a legal guardian
  • Parenthood

The period of care is usually for a longer period of time and is individually designed.

The costs for the services are covered by the responsible institution for integration assistance if an individual need for support is determined. If necessary, income and assets will be taken into account.

  • a restriction of participation.

The individual need for support is determined within the framework of a participation and overall plan procedure by the responsible institution for integration assistance.

Which documents are required?

An informal application to the competent authority is sufficient. They will ask you to use a form and to submit further documents.

Process flow

  • You contact the institution responsible for your integration assistance. There you can ask for advice and support or submit an informal application straight away.
  • The competent authority will ask you to fill out a form and submit further documents.
  • The authority will conduct a participation and/or overall plan procedure to determine your individual needs for integration assistance services.
  • When all the documents have been submitted, the competent authority will check whether or to what extent you will receive integration assistance on the basis of the information you have provided.
  • After your application has been reviewed, you will receive a decision of approval or rejection.

What deadlines do I have to pay attention to?

None

The authority to which the application is submitted must determine within two weeks of receipt of the application whether it is responsible for the application. If the authority is not competent, it shall forward the application without delay.
