Passport issuance for adults for the first time
An application for the issuance of a passport for the first time must be submitted to the competent authority. When issuing minors for the first time , special conditions must be observed.

Which documents are required?
- up-to-date biometric-compatible photograph, in passport format (45 x 35 mm) in portrait format, frontal shot without border, without headgear and without covering the eyes
- Identity card
- If necessary, a civil status certificate (birth/marriage certificate) is required, e.g. in case of ambiguities in the spelling of the name

Process flow
The applicant must present himself in person to apply for the passport (e-passport). The application will be filled out on site with the processor. All the applicant has to do is sign.
The personal visit is essential because of the handwritten signature on the application form and the identity check. Identity can be proven by an official photo ID. This is usually the identity card or the previous passport.
On the other hand, the passport can also be collected by a written authorised representative who must identify himself.
What deadlines do I have to pay attention to?
It is not possible to extend the period of validity.
