Firearms license
Anyone who wants to carry a firearm in public, i.e. outside the home or a pacified property, needs a firearms license. This also applies to alarm shots, irritants and signal weapons ("small" firearms license). At public events, the carrying of weapons of any kind is generally prohibited.

Proof of the need as well as appropriate insurance must be provided by yourself. Proof of expertise is provided by a weapons expertise examination. A request to participate in this examination may be submitted to the competent authority.

- Information that credibly demonstrates that the applicant is significantly more endangered than the general public by attacks on life or limb and that the possession of firearms outside the pacified property, e.g. the dwelling or the fenced property, is also suitable to reduce this risk
- Insofar as the firearms licence is to be issued for an activity within the framework of the security industry, corresponding security orders must be submitted as proof of need as well as a business registration .

What else should I know?
The issuance of a permit to carry a weapon (firearms license) always requires the issuance of a permit to acquire and possess weapons (weapon possession card). This does not apply to the issuance of the so-called "small firearms license".
