Dog register registration
Registration can be done by post, telephone or online. A registration already made in other registers, such as TASSO, does not count as registration in the central register. Registration in the central register must therefore be carried out in any case.
Registration in the dog register does not replace the separate registration of the dog at the place of residence.
Who should I contact?
Responsibility lies with the Central Register in accordance with § 16 NHundG, which is managed by KSN Kommunales Systemhaus Niedersachsen GmbH on the basis of a loan.

Mondays to Fridays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Which documents are required?
Only the transponder number (identification number) of the transponder/chip that the animal has received at the veterinary practice in accordance with the chip obligation is required for registration. It is issued by veterinarians when a transponder (chip) is inserted. The identification number must be retained and kept available for the register application. A tattoo number is not sufficient and does not meet the legal requirements, as every dog older than 6 months must have an implanted transponder. The identification numbers of transponders that were implanted before the legal chip obligation in 2011 can also be specified.
What are the fees?
