Basic services Promotion
The basic services measure ensures the basic supply of the rural population and contributes to maintaining and improving the quality of life in rural areas. The measure is offered nationwide. In addition to economic feasibility studies and analyses, investment projects, primarily on buildings, are funded.
Funding is available to public and private applicants.
The following can be funded:
- Analyses, economic feasibility studies, impact assessments
- Village or neighbourhood shops
- Local and basic services (e.g. small service and supply centres with retail, post office, bank, care for the elderly)
- Rural Service Agencies
- Facilities for individual population groups (e.g. children's and youth club, event rooms)
- Mobility services
- Acquisition of developed land in connection with the previously listed funding opportunities.
The amount of funding is as follows:
- In the case of municipalities and non-profit legal entities, up to 63% with a maximum funding amount of 500,000 euros,
- for all other beneficiaries, 35% of the eligible expenditure with a maximum funding amount of 200,000 euros.
- The funding rates can be increased by 5 or 10 percentage points if the project implements the objectives of an integrated rural development concept or a regional development concept according to Leader.

Requirements
- The planned project is located in a town in Lower Saxony that has less than 10,000 inhabitants.
- A registration number (central company number ) is required for funding.
