Sprout production Approval
The production of sprouts generally requires official approval.
Approval shall be granted on application only after at least one official on-the-spot check. It may be granted for a limited period and subject to conditions. With the approval, the permanent establishment also receives the approval number, which is made public.
Who should I contact?
The responsibility lies with the Lower Saxony State Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (LAVES).

Requirements
- Compliance with the requirements of Article 2 sentence 2 of Regulation (EU) No 201/2013 on the approval of sprout-producing establishments pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 852/2004
Which documents are required?
- Operational Mirror
- Draft of a scale operating plan from which:
- the material and personnel flow as well as
- the installation of the machines can be seen
- in the case of craft businesses, documents showing the activity planned in the respective premises instead.

The activity may only be started after the establishment has been approved by the competent authority.
