Apply for inclusion of a water body or section of water body in the list of regularly dry water bodies
You can report bodies of water or stretches of water that are regularly dry for less than six months a year. Once the notification has been received and checked for plausibility, the water bodies or sections of water bodies will be included in the list of dry water bodies.
Watercourses that have been included in the list of dry watercourses are exempt from the regulations on the establishment of watercourse edge stripsaccording to NWG and WHG (please observe the Fertilizer Ordinance or similar) are excluded.
It is possible that the watercourse or section of watercourse you wish to report has already been included in the list of dry watercourses. You can find these water bodies or sections of water bodies on the correspondinginteractive environmental mapof the Lower Saxony Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Climate Protection. The interactive environmental map is updated monthly.

Requirements
- The watercourse or section of watercourse regularly carries water for less than six months of the year.
- The watercourse or watercourse section is not a watercourse according to Annex 1 No. 2.1 of the Ordinance on the Protection of Surface Waters (OGewV) (WRRl-relevant)
- The watercourse or section of watercourse is not located in a karst area

- If watercourse (section) is not yet in the digital watercourse network: supplementary sheet notification of changes and additions to the watercourse network
What are the fees?

Process flow
- You submit your report to the Lower Saxony Water Management, Coastal Defence and Nature Conservation Agency (NLWKN).
- On the basis of the notification received and using individual criteria, the NLWKN checks the plausibility of whether the watercourse or section of watercourse could be dry.
- Following a plausibility check, the NLWKN either includes the water body or section of water body in the list of regularly dry water bodies or rejects the notification.
What deadlines do I have to pay attention to?
There is no deadline.

You will receive a confirmation of receipt within a few days of receiving your advertisement.
The processing time for your advertisement varies between a few weeks and a few months, depending on the volume of advertisements.
