Which place to enter?

The location is used to determine the responsible office for the selected administrative service. In most cases you can enter your place of residence to find the competent authority. However, there are also cases in which a different location must be specified. Here are some examples:

Birth certificateYou want to get married and need a birth certificate. You live in Hanover, but you were born in Celle. You must therefore state your place of birth, i.e. Celle.

Business registrationYou would like to register a business in Braunschweig. Your place of residence is Hanover. You must therefore state the location of your future business, i.e. Braunschweig.

Apply for a building permitYou would like to build a house in Wunstorf and therefore apply for a building permit. Her place of residence is currently Hanover. You must indicate the place where the house is to be built. In this case it is Wunstorf.

Sale and marketing of animals of specially protected species: authorisation

A number of animals and plants of specially protected species require a marketing authorisation for sale (including exchange) or any other use for consideration.

This applies to:

  • animals and naturally removed plants of the species listed in Annex A to Regulation (EC) No 338/97 on the protection of species of wild fauna and flora by regulating trade therein,
  • wild fauna and flora of the species listed in Annex IV to Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora,
  • birds of European species taken from nature,
  • naturally removed animals and plants of species strictly protected in accordance with Annex 1 of the Ordinance on the Protection of Wild Animal and Plant Species (BArtSchV).

The responsibility lies with the Lower Saxony State Agency for Water Management, Coastal and Nature Conservation (NLWKN).

What deadlines do I have to pay attention to?

The application must be submitted in good time before the intended marketing activity, as commercial use may only take place after the marketing authorisation has been granted. The processing of the application takes approximately 1 month.

What else should I know?

The original certificate must be sent to the purchaser for each marketing activity.
