The discovery of archaeologically significant objects must be reported. From time to time, antique coins, ceramic shards, flint chips, historical metal remnants, etc. could be found in the earth or in the water.

Requirements
The applicant must guarantee that he or she will properly report and handle finds. This requires theoretical training at the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments and a practical exercise.

There are no fees.
Process flow
The find is to be addressed to the Lower Saxony State Office for the Preservation of Monuments or to the lower monument protection authority of the place of discovery or the municipality.
Deadlines
Notification Period: 4 DaysThe notification must be issued no later than four working days after discovery of the find.
