Vaccination: Advice
Vaccinations are one of the most important measures to prevent diseases. Some diseases no longer occur, or only very rarely, because most people have been vaccinated.
Before vaccines are approved, their effectiveness and safety must be proven in studies. The independent Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) then examines who is recommended to be vaccinated in Germany and when it makes the most sense to administer it. The individual advice from your doctor or the responsible authority is based on these recommendations.
Who should I contact?
The responsibility lies with the doctor, the district and the independent city. They offer advice.
If you would like to find out more about vaccinations, you can find up-to-date and further information on individual vaccinations and other individual advice on the website of the Lower Saxony State Health Office.
