What else should I know?
Companies that store waste have a special duty of care regarding the whereabouts of their waste. Among other things, these may only be handed over to recyclers who are entitled to accept such waste. The acceptance of used tyres and the delivery must be documented in a register in accordance with § 24 of the Ordinance on Verification of the Disposal of Waste (NachwV). In addition to the basic data of the storage of used tyres, the registers must contain the quantity of waste and the date of take-over for each batch accepted, as well as the person taking charge for each batch delivered. If the storage capacity is 100 t or more, an immission control permit is required.
