Apply for a simple certificate of good conduct
A certificate of good conduct does not include all entries in the central register. The type of certificate of good conduct is decisive for the content:
- for private purposes (document type N)
- for submission to an authority (document type O)

Process flow
Up to the age of 17, the legal representative can also apply for the issuance. The application cannot be made by a third party. The application is received by the competent authority and forwarded to the Federal Central Register for issuance.
The certificate of good conduct for private purposes (document type N) will be sent directly to the applicant's home by post.
The certificate of good conduct for submission to an authority (document type O) is sent directly to the authority indicated by the applicant with reference to the purpose of payment. The applicant may request that the certificate of good conduct be first sent to a local court for inspection for submission to an authority, provided that it contains entries.

What else should I know?
Since 01.09.2014 it has been possible to apply for a simple certificate of good conduct online . To do this, you will need an electronic ID card with an activated PIN as proof of identity and a reader to read the ID data.
