Apply for a license to practice as a pharmacist
After successfully completing your pharmacy studies, you can apply for a license to practice as a pharmacist. This license allows you to practice the profession of pharmacist in Germany independently and on your own responsibility.
You will receive the license for an unlimited period of time. It is valid for the entire Federal Republic of Germany.
Your license can be revoked if you are no longer reliable to practice the profession of pharmacist. This may include, among other things, violating professional regulations or committing a criminal offense. Your license may also be revoked if you have health problems relevant to the practice of pharmacy.

Requirements
You will receive your license to practice as a pharmacist under the following conditions:
- You have completed the prescribed pharmaceutical training and passed the state examination.
- You have completed your professional training in Germany. If you were trained outside Germany, the competent authority must determine whether it considers your training to be of equal standing.
- You have not been guilty of any conduct that makes you unworthy or unreliable to practice the profession.
- You are medically fit to practise the profession
- You have the necessary knowledge of the German language to practise your profession.
Which documents are required?
- Proof of identity
- birth certificate, for married persons also the marriage certificate
- a brief curriculum vitae
- official certificate of good conduct of document type O, which must not be older than one month
- Certificate of passing the pharmaceutical examination
- Declaration as to whether criminal proceedings or a public prosecutor's investigation are pending against you
- Medical certificate, which must not be more than one month old, stating that you are medically fit to practise the profession
