The possibility of carrying out up to four "open Sundays" a year (or up to eight "open Sundays" in excursion locations) is an exception to the general ban on the opening of shops on Sundays and public holidays. These exceptions should be allowed if they are requested by the vast majority of sales outlet holders or by an association representing the local retail trade.
