Sunday and public holiday exemptions Granting in the travel industry
Anyone who operates a travel business must in principle comply with the provisions of the Act on Closing Hours (LadSchlG) and the Lower Saxony Act on Public Holidays (NFeiertagsG). An exception to the Sunday and holiday rest applies to the offering (offering for sale) of goods as well as to hospitality activities in the travel industry. In addition, the derogations apply to self-employed traders who visit other persons in the course of their business.
Further exceptions must be expressly permitted upon written request by the competent authority.
The responsibility lies with the municipality, the joint municipality and the city in which the habitual residence is.
This procedure can also be handled through a "point of single contact". The "Point of Single Contact" is a special service offered by the municipalities and the state for service providers.
