Obligation to practise as a patent attorney exemption
In the interest of the administration of justice or in order to avoid hardship, the competent authority may exempt a patent attorney from the obligation to practise a patent attorney pursuant to Section 26 (3) of the Patent Attorney Code (PAO).
Responsibility lies with the Chamber of Patent Attorneys.
This procedure can also be handled through a "point of single contact". The "Point of Single Contact" is a special service offered by the municipalities and the state for service providers.
- An exemption is granted in accordance with § 27 paragraph 2 patent attorney regulations (PAO) if a law firm
- is established exclusively in other countries, and
- overriding interests do not preclude the administration of justice.
No documents are required.
Fees are charged according to the fee statutes of the competent authority.
There are no deadlines to be observed.
