Maintenance security for conscripts and their family members

Volunteer military service providers (FWDL) are granted benefits under the Maintenance Insurance Act (USG) upon request. Under certain conditions, they are reimbursed for the expenses of rent, interest on loans and operating costs for owner-occupied housing.

For volunteers in the conscripts, the following benefits may be granted under the Maintenance Insurance Act (USG):

  • Reimbursement of expenses for housing in accordance with Section 13 USG
  • Economic aid under Section 14 OF the USG
  • Benefits for members of the common household in accordance with Section 17 OF the USG
  • Performance for the initial equipment at birth according to Section 18 USG
  • Special grant in accordance with Section 19 USG
  • Reimbursement of contributions to health and long-term care insurance in accordance with Section 20 USG
  • Bridging grant in accordance with Section 21 OF the USG
  • Benefits to non-resident relatives in accordance with Section 22 OFUSG
  • Other benefits pursuant to Section 15 USG

Benefits under the Maintenance Insurance Act (USG) are granted on request. The right to apply ends at the end of the third month after the end of voluntary military service. Exceptions for longer application periods may apply to Sections 13 of the USG and Section 22 USG.
