• If you reside in Germany:

  • Up-to-date certification by the police or judicial authorities of the country of origin that no judicial proceedings are pending
• Proof of identity, e.g. passport or, if available, copy of the EU Blue Card (Blue Card)
• Commitment to recruitment or continued employment
  • written opinion of the future employer indicating the exact period of employment, or
  • Copy of the employment contract
• Evidence of the German language required for the medical practice:
  • Certificate of a language institute on a successfully completed language examination at at least B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference
  • Take a technical language exam
• Evidence of completed medical training, depending on the country of training by:
  • Diploma, certificates and other qualifications which are used for the unrestricted exercise of their profession in the country of training

  • Certificate from the competent body of the State (within eu/EEA/Switzerland) in which the medical profession has been practised so far that you have been in fact, lawfully and unrestrictedly, for at least three years during the five years prior to the issue of the certificate, in accordance with Article 23 of Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications
• Certificate of Good Standing
  • Certificate of safety by the competent authority of the State in which the medical profession has hitherto been practised. It must be clear from this that no professional or supervisory proceedings are pending against you which result in your unworthiness or unreliability in the exercise of the medical profession. This is not applicable if the medical profession has never been practised.
• German translations of all foreign language documents

The original documents must be attached as scans and, if necessary, submitted by paper upon request in the original or in a certified copy.

For the foreign documents proving the completed medical training, confirmation of the authenticity of the original documents by the Hague Apostille or by legalization by the German Embassy is required.

The competent authority may, if necessary, request further documents.
