European Attorney General Admission

As a European lawyer, you can be admitted to the bar in accordance with the provisions of §§ 6 to 42 of the Federal Lawyers' Act (BRAO).

Requirements

  • Proof of at least three years of effective and regular activity as a established European lawyer in Germany in the field of German law, including Community law, in accordance with §§ 11, 12 of the Act on the Activities of European Lawyers in Germany (EuRAG)

Anyone who has only been active in German law for a short period within these 3 years can be admitted to the bar in accordance with the provisions of §§ 6 to 36 of the Federal Lawyers' Act (BRAO) if he proves his ability to continue to practice the activity in accordance with §§ 14 and 15 EuRAG.

  • Proof of professional indemnity insurance

What are the fees?

Fees are charged in accordance with § 39 of the Act on the Activities of European Lawyers in Germany (EuRAG) and § 192 of the Federal Lawyers' Act (BRAO) in conjunction with the Fees Statute of the Bar Association. Please contact the competent authority.
