If you wish to register a craft or a trade similar to that is not subject to authorisation, the competent authority will not enter you in the register of craftsmen, but in the "Register of owners of a business in a craft or trade similar to a craft without authorisation".
Entry in the "Register of owners of a business in a craft or trade similar to a licence is associated with the issuance of a trade card . With the business card, you can later legitimize yourself as a registered business.
Who should I contact?
Responsibility lies with the Chamber of Crafts in whose district the permanent establishment is located.
This procedure can also be carried out through a "Point of Single Contact". The "Point of Single Contact" is a special service offered by municipalities and the state for service providers.
Which documents are required?
- Identity card or passport with confirmation of registration
- Residence permit, if applicable
- Shareholders' agreement
- If applicable, further documents in accordance with § 20 in conjunction with § 17 paragraph 1 Handwerksordnung (HwO)
For inclusion in the "Register of Owners of a Business of a Craft or a Trade Similar to a Craft" you do not need proof of qualification - unlike a craft subject to registration in the Register of Craftsmen.
