Exceptions for the auction of perishable goods Admission to trade fairs, exhibitions and wholesale markets
The competent authority may allow exceptions to the auction of perishable goods at trade fairs, exhibitions and wholesale markets within the meaning of Paragraphs 64 to 66 of the Trade Code (GewO) in particular from the obligation to grant licences for the auctioneer industry.
Who should I contact?
The responsibility lies with the district, the district-free city, the large independent city and the independent municipality.
This procedure can also be carried out through a "single point of contact". The "Single Contact Person" is a special service offered by the municipalities and the country for service providers.
Which documents are required?
- Tax certificate of safety of the tax office
- Information from the Commercial Central Register
- Certificate of leadership for submission to public authorities
- Information about entries pursuant to Section 26 paragraph 2 Insolvency Regulations (InsO) and Section 882b Of the Code of Civil Procedure (ZPO) in the debtor list of the competent district court
- any tax certificate of safety issued by the competent tax office
For traders from another MEMBER state of the EU or an EEA Member State, documents issued in the country of origin may be used to demonstrate that the requirements for the reliability and orderly financial situation of the trader/trader are met.
The competent authority may request further documentation.
What are the fees?
There are fees in accordance with Appendix 1 to Section 1 paragraph 1 General Fee Regulations of the Land of Lower Saxony (AllGO) in accordance with No. 40.1.14 and No. 40.1.24.12.

An application period is not set by law. However, a timely application (4 to 6 weeks before the start of the event) is recommended.
