Exceptions to the prescribed minimum inspection period of the auctioned goods in the auctioneer's trade Admission
The auctioneer must give the opportunity to inspect the auctioned item for a period of at least 2 hours. The competent authority may grant exceptions if the bidders are otherwise given sufficient opportunity to assess the auctioned item.
The alternative opportunity for the auction item to be assessed by the bidder may be provided by providing a catalogue documenting the auctioned item.
Who should I contact?
The responsibility lies with the district, the independent city, the large independent city and the independent municipality in whose area of responsibility the event is located.
This procedure can also be handled by a "Point of Single Contact". The "Point of Single Contact" is a special service offered by the municipalities and the state for service providers.
Requirements
- only for a single auction
- in case of particular risk of theft
- the creation of sufficient security measures cannot be expected of the auctioneer
- e.g. at the auction of a large number of smaller items
Which documents are required?
- If applicable, identity card or passport
- Auctioneer's permit
- If applicable, display of the auction
- If applicable, documents proving the "alternative visit" (catalogues)
What are the fees?
The amount of the fees is determined - in accordance with Annex 1 to § 1 paragraph 1 of the General Fee Schedule of the State of Lower Saxony No. 40.4.2 - depending on the time spent. However, a minimum of EUR 35.00 and a maximum of EUR 590.00 will be charged.
