Which place to enter?

The location is used to determine the responsible office for the selected administrative service. In most cases you can enter your place of residence to find the competent authority. However, there are also cases in which a different location must be specified. Here are some examples:

Birth certificateYou want to get married and need a birth certificate. You live in Hanover, but you were born in Celle. You must therefore state your place of birth, i.e. Celle.

Business registrationYou would like to register a business in Braunschweig. Your place of residence is Hanover. You must therefore state the location of your future business, i.e. Braunschweig.

Apply for a building permitYou would like to build a house in Wunstorf and therefore apply for a building permit. Her place of residence is currently Hanover. You must indicate the place where the house is to be built. In this case it is Wunstorf.

Using the EU-DLR Point of Single Contact network to support the simple handling of administrative procedures


As part of a Europe-wide network, the Points of Single Contact give you easy access to administrations and authorities.
Points of Single Contact help you to:

  • if you want to become an entrepreneur in the field of EU-DLR in Germany or
  • if you wish to have your regulated professional qualification formally recognised.

The Points of Single Contact will inform you about:

  • application and required documents,
  • competent bodies,
  • Costs and
  • Duration of the administrative procedure.

The Points of Single Contact also handle administrative procedures electronically for you. You receive your application and forward it to the competent authorities. This saves you from having to deal with the authorities.
The Network of Points of Single Contact consists of Internet portals and personal contacts.

Hint:
If you want to do business or work in another country of the European Union (EU), you will find the appropriate Point of Single Contact on the website of the EU Commission.

The service of the Points of Single Contact can be used:

  • Service provider
  • Enterprise
  • Founders and
  • Persons wishing to have their regulated professional qualification recognised

from

  • the Federal Republic of Germany,
  • a Member State of the European Union (EU) or
  • a Member State of the European Economic Area (EEA), currently
    • Iceland
    • Liechtenstein or
    • Norway.

What are the fees?

The fee is variable and will be proportionate to the costs of the corresponding procedures and formalities (Art. 13 para. 2 EU-DLR). The amount of the costs depends on the specific procedure.

Process flow

If you want to use the service of the Point of Single Contact, you must contact the regionally responsible Point of Single Contact in the respective federal state in which you would like to carry out your project:

  • Go to the website of the Point of Single Contact of the federal state relevant to you.
  • There you can determine the administrative procedures necessary for your project. Search functions and/or electronic assistants are usually available for this purpose.
  • You will then be directed to the appropriate online procedures.

What deadlines do I have to pay attention to?

Time limits depend on the procedure and can be found in the corresponding procedural descriptions.

Hint:
The deadline does not begin until all required documents have been submitted in full.

  • for the provision of information:
    • on the Internet portals: immediately
    • Inquiries by e-mail: usually up to 3 days, as long as the documents are complete
  • for the processing time of the procedures:
